Oklahoma Malt Whisky Society

Fifteen members and guests gathered for the evening’s tasting.  Our host, Dr. Meshri, supplied a most excellent hors d’oeuvres selction, highlighted with several Indian delicacies.  The three whiskies officially tasted were:

 Tomatin 12 year old

Something Special blended whisky

Scapa 15 year old

We also had the opportunity to sample an independent bottling of a 15 year old Caol Ila.

We had a great turnout for our monthly meeting, and welcome our new members. We look forward to this season’s tastings.

OMWS member Chris Merle visited Scotland in August of 2005. Here is a picture of the Talisker Distillery, Carbost, Isle of Skye where he picked up a bottle of Talisker 18 and shared it with the members at a club meeting. It was enjoyed by all.

Also he visited Oban Distillery, Oban, Argyll. Show below. He did not bring a bottle back from them.

November 9, 2005.Our next tasting is Saturday, November 19, 2005 at the lovely Post Oak Lodge at 5323 West 31st Street North just Northwest of downtown Tulsa. This will be our Single Malt World Tasting Tour. Details and cost are in this flyer. Please RVSP if you would like to attend.

Our next public tasting event will be held on September 25th at 3:30 p.m. at the White Lion Pub. There will be a full complement of hors d’oeuvres for your enjoyment, and the selection of whiskies will include:

• Irish – Knappogue Castle
• Irish – Bushmills Malt 16
• Vatted – Johnnie Walker Green Label

Cost for the evening: Whisky Tasters-$ 35. OMWS Members-$ 30. Non-Tasters-$ 28 Non-tasters will be able to purchase the beverage of their choice as they enjoy the presentation. The White Lion is located at 6927 S. Canton Ave (near 71st and Yale.) Reservations must be made in advance.
