Japanese Whisky Commercials
Thursday, November 8th, 2007We haven’t posted anything in a while but I thought I’d share these Suntory Whisky commercials.
You didn’t think they good get any more bizarre but they do.
Now this one is kinda cool.

The evening featured a great line-up of whiskies, a flight of the three closed Inverness distilleries: Glen Mhor (22 year old Rare Malt bottling), Glen Albyn (26 year old Rare Malt bottling) and Millburn (35 year old Rare Malt bottling). And for a contrast the evening concluded with an 18 year old Caol Ila.
Chef Monday Thomas at the the Talking Drum Restaurant, located at 6946 S. Lewis Ave (918-499-1991) in Tulsa, opened Wednesday evening exclusively for the OMWS and served a delicious meal of Chicken au lait (in coconut milk), jerk chicken and a dessert of bread pudding. Delicious!
Should have posted this sooner but wanted to let everyone know that. Michael Jackson, The Beer Hunter, The Whiskey Chaser, Maven of Malt, and White Rose of Yorkshire, passed away. More information at http://michaeljacksonthebeerhunter.blogspot.com/
We had a great meeting. We tasted a 2 year old single malt Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey, Imperlal 28 Year Old 1975 bottled by Cask & Thistle, The Speyside 12, Caol Ila 14 Cognac. More notes to come.
Fifteen members and guests gathered for the evening’s tasting. Our host, Dr. Meshri, supplied a most excellent hors d’oeuvres selction, highlighted with several Indian delicacies. The three whiskies officially tasted were:
Tomatin 12 year old
Something Special blended whisky
Scapa 15 year old
We also had the opportunity to sample an independent bottling of a 15 year old Caol Ila.
The next meeting is scheduled October 25th. Members will receive details. If you are interested in being a guest or joining please contact us.
